An oscilloscope is a laboratory instrument used to display a visual representations of the waveform of electronic signals for the purpose of analysis. This item, preserved as part of the School of Engineering Collection, would have been used to create a lasting record of a real-time display.

D. Shackman & Sons were an English instrument manufacturer that produced special purpose automated cameras and camera accessories, such as interval timers. Some of their Auto Cameras were used for recording aircraft instrumentation and functions during test flights. Others were designed for similar naval use.
