The Shadow by Gray’s School of Art graduate Mary Gillies This small vivid composition by artist Mary Gillies was inspired by a piece of writing by Carl Jung. The boy in the foreground is being followed by the small archetypal figure of his unconscious shadow.  This Japanese print by Kunisada provides a window into another world where landscape, flora and culture are intertwined.  Rich colour and use of pattern is featured in this traditional Japanese Garden scene.
