Flashback Friday

Over the decades Gray’s School of Art has held many dances which in the past were referred to as the Arts Ball. The event would tend to be a lavish affair with students expressing themselves by designing their own fancy dress and often the students would decorate the venue too. This photograph shows students (predominantly girls) attending the Arts Ball in the 1940s when the School was located adjacent to the Aberdeen Art Gallery.
